India and Germany explore ways to enhance cooperation in the energy and sustainable development sectors

New Delhi, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- India and Germany today discussed ways to strengthen their existing cooperation in the energy and sustainable development sectors. The talks took place during a meeting in New Delhi between Indian Minister of Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal and German Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety Svenja Schulze, to discuss collaboration on energy security, electrification, low-carbon development, carbon markets, and supply chain diversification.

The Indian Ministry of Power said in a statement that the Indian and German sides exchanged views on ongoing initiatives and explored ways to deepen cooperation in these areas, leveraging the strong momentum in bilateral relations. The statement added that the two ministers agreed on the close link between energy security, low-carbon development, and carbon markets, noting that India-Germany cooperation in these areas could mutually reinforce each other. The ministers also reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing toward a secure, sustainable, and affordable energy future, expressing their anticipation for continued dialogue and joint efforts in the coming months.
