Arab League condemns Iran's blatant renewed attacks on Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan

Cairo, Sept 2 (KUNA) -- The Arab League today condemned the blatant resumption of Iranian attacks targeting Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, describing the assaults as a serious violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of these states and a direct threat to the security and stability of the region. In a statement, the League warned of the repercussions of the current Iranian escalation wave on Arab countries, emphasizing that it poses a grave danger to regional security and stability, and that its continuation signals a renewed expansion of the conflict. The League affirmed that the ongoing escalationist approach not only threatens the security of the Gulf Arab states but also exposes the entire regional security architecture to growing risks, undermines remaining opportunities for de-escalation, and dissipates efforts aimed at opening political channels to address the crisis. It reaffirmed its full solidarity with Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, and its support for their inherent right to safeguard their sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security, and to take whatever lawful measures they deem necessary under international law in the face of any threats or attacks directed against them. The League called for an immediate halt to these attacks, urged restraint, and warned against any steps that could widen the confrontation, stressing that continued escalation would not resolve the root causes of the crisis but would instead deepen it and increase its costs for the entire region. It once again called for the restoration of the negotiating and political track as the only viable means to halt the escalation spiral and lay the foundations for sustainable regional security and stability.
