Minister of Education Honors Kuwaiti Students Who Won the International Earth Science Olympiad in Italy
Kuwait City, 2 Sept (KUNA) — Education Minister Sayyid Jalal Al-Tabtabaee honored Kuwaiti students who won at the International Earth Science Olympiad, recently held in Turin, Italy, for their outstanding results and for raising the country’s name high at international scientific forums.
In a press statement on Wednesday, following a meeting with the honored students at his office attended by several ministry officials, Minister Al-Tabtabaee said that the scientific excellence embodied by the students is a badge of honor for Kuwait, and that the medals they won are a culmination of their efforts, perseverance, scientific capabilities, and a source of pride for their honorable performance in an international competition that brought together elite students from around the world.
He noted that honoring them today reflects a firm reality: Kuwait has always been, and continues to be, a cradle for outstanding and creative individuals, rich with the talents and promising minds of its sons and daughters, capable of competing and achieving, and raising the nation’s name at international forums.
Al-Tabtabaee added that the Ministry views these achievements as a motivation to continue investing in the capabilities of gifted and outstanding students, and to work on discovering their talents early and nurturing them through specialized training programs and scientific participation, thereby contributing to preparing a generation equipped with the knowledge and skills needed for the future.
He also praised the efforts of the team supervisors, commending their follow-up, training, and preparation of the students, noting that these achievements are the result of comprehensive cooperation among the students, their families, supervisors, and educational institutions, and serve as an example of the importance of integrated efforts in supporting student excellence.
Al-Tabtabaee stated that the Ministry of Education will continue to support students with talents and scientific capabilities, providing them with opportunities to participate in international forums and competitions, thereby enhancing Kuwait’s presence in scientific fields and reinforcing a culture of excellence and innovation among students.
The winning student delegation included Talal Al-Mutairi, Ghaliya Al-Anazi, Narjes Sabti, and Kawthar Al-Qattan, along with team supervisors Abdullah Al-Maqssid, a geology instructor, and Nora Al-Wanda, a geology instructor. (End) M.A.R. / A.M.H.
