Saudi Arabia condemns Iran's targeting of the tanker (Sadr) and reaffirms its solidarity with Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan

Riyadh, 2 September (KUNA) – The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed on Wednesday the Kingdom’s condemnation of Iran’s targeting of the Saudi tanker “Sadr” as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, and the resulting fatalities among the tanker’s crew. In a statement, the ministry said the Kingdom also condemns Iranian attacks that targeted Kuwait, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Kingdom of Bahrain, reaffirming its full solidarity and support for these sister states in their measures to safeguard their security and sovereignty against any threats. It stressed the necessity of halting escalation, respecting the security and safety of international navigation, the security of global energy supplies, the principles of good neighborliness, state sovereignty, the UN Charter, international law, and established international norms. The Kingdom called on all parties to de-escalate, halt escalation, respect international law, and return to negotiations and peaceful solutions. (End)
