Lebanon: Israeli occupation aggression death toll rises to 4,353

Beirut, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- Lebanon announced on Tuesday that the cumulative toll of victims from the ongoing Israeli occupation’s aggression since March last year has risen to 4,353 dead. The Emergency Operations Center of the Lebanese Ministry of Health said in a statement that the overall cumulative casualty count from the Israeli occupation’s aggression since March 2 has reached 4,353 dead and 12,323 wounded.

Regarding field developments, the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA) reported that an Israeli occupation military convoy launched a guided missile strike targeting an apartment in the town of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, coinciding with 155mm artillery shelling aimed at the town of Sarbineh in the Bint Jbeil district in southern Lebanon.

The agency noted that occupation forces carried out major explosions in the towns of Kafr Kanna, Yehmar al-Shaqif, Taybeh, Hawla, and Rashaya, causing material damage to public and private property. This occurred as a military aircraft flew at low altitude over the towns of Qleiat and Jdeidet Mroujoun in the south.

It added that heavy machinery belonging to the occupation forces advanced toward the Fourth District of the town of Mansouriya in the Sidon district and demolished several houses alongside military vehicles.

Southern Lebanon has been witnessing continuous military and field escalation, marked by escalating violations and clashes along the southern border since March 2, resulting in hundreds of dead and wounded, the displacement of thousands of residents from border villages and towns, and severe damage to infrastructure and property.
