(Sentcom) announces the start of a new round of military strikes on Iran

Washington, Jan 1 (KUNA) -- The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Tuesday the commencement of a new round of military strikes against Iran. In a statement, the command said that “U.S. forces began at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time today to strike targets belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps inside Iran.” The statement clarified that the strikes come in response to recent offensive actions carried out by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, which targeted commercial navigation in the Strait of Hormuz as well as U.S. military personnel deployed in the region.
