US President: Situation in the Strait of Hormuz is good, large quantities of oil are exported every night

Washington, Aug 31 (KUNA) -- U.S. President Donald Trump described the situation in the Strait of Hormuz as “good” on Monday, affirming that large quantities of oil are being exported through the strait every night. In remarks to reporters at the White House, Trump said, “The U.S. Navy is doing a great job helping commercial ships that transit the Strait of Hormuz,” noting that an average of 30 ships pass through Hormuz each night. He added, “Oil is flowing out of the Strait of Hormuz as we want, which is why prices remain reasonable and do not rise sharply.” Trump stated that China has remained neutral regarding the Strait of Hormuz, while affirming that the U.S. sanctions on Iranian ports are being implemented successfully and with high efficiency. Regarding Iranian attacks targeting U.S. forces in Jordan on Sunday, Trump reiterated that the United States would deliver a “harsh but limited” response to Iran. Central Command (CENTCOM) had announced on Sunday the execution of a “limited and precise action” against forces affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps that were conducting mine-laying operations and posed an imminent threat in the Strait of Hormuz.
