Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemns and denounces the renewed Iranian attacks on the UAE and Jordan

Manama, August 31 (KUNA) -- The Kingdom of Bahrain expressed its strong condemnation and rejection today on Monday of the renewed Iranian attacks targeting the United Arab Emirates with a drone and breaching the airspace of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan with several ballistic missiles. In two separate statements, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that these attacks on the UAE and Jordan constitute a blatant violation of their sovereignty and a serious escalation that threatens regional security and stability, in contravention of the rules of international law, the UN Charter, and United Nations Security Council Resolution (2817), as well as the principles of good neighborliness. The ministry affirmed Bahrain’s full solidarity with both the UAE and Jordan and its complete support for all measures they take to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and to protect their citizens and residents on their territories, commending the vigilance and competence of their armed forces in confronting these heinous attacks. The Foreign Ministry renewed Bahrain’s call on the UN Security Council to fulfill its responsibilities and take urgent and resolute measures to compel Iran to comply with international law and the UN Charter, to cease its aggressive acts that threaten the security and stability of the region, and to respect freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and other vital waterways, thereby contributing to de-escalation and tension reduction and preserving regional security and stability.
