Secretary-General of the Arab League Condemns Renewed Overt Iranian Aggressions Against the UAE and Jordan

Cairo, Aug 31 (KUNA) – Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy strongly condemned today, Monday, the blatant Iranian aggression that targeted the United Arab Emirates and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, affirming his firm rejection of any infringement on the security of Arab states or attacks on their territories under any pretext.

In a statement, Fahmy reiterated the Arab League’s full solidarity with the UAE and Jordan and its support for all measures they take to safeguard their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasizing that the security of the two countries is an integral part of the Arab national security framework.

He stated that the Iranian attacks constitute a blatant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the two countries, as well as a clear breach of the rules of international law and the United Nations Charter.

He firmly rejected the excuses put forward by Iran to justify its attacks on Arab states and its threats to their security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, calling on Iran to respect the sovereignty of Arab states.

He stressed that preserving the security and stability of the region requires adherence to the principles of international law, prioritizing dialogue and responsibility, and avoiding any steps that could escalate tensions or endanger the region’s security and the interests of its peoples.
