British Foreign Ministry Raises Issue of Detention of One of Its Citizens by Israeli Occupation

London, August 31 (KUNA) -- The UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) announced on Monday that it had raised with Israeli occupation authorities the case of a British citizen detained in the occupied West Bank by settlers. The ministry said in a statement that officials at the British Embassy in Israel were briefed on the case of British activist Finn Joughin (22), who was arrested by Israeli settlers on Saturday in the Um al-Khair area of the West Bank. Israeli occupation police had stated that the British citizen was detained by settlers before being handed over to the occupation police for further questioning. Activists at the scene reported that Joughin was protecting Palestinian children from settler attacks. Israeli settlers have recently escalated their attacks on Palestinians in the West Bank, alongside intensifying settlement activities and land confiscations, sparking condemnation from the international community.
