Kuwait Premier League (Zain): Al-Jahra defeats Al-Arabi 2-1 in Round 2

Kuwait City, Aug 30 (KUNA) -- Al-Jahra Club defeated Al-Arabi 2-1 in the second round of the Zain Premier League football tournament.

At Thamer Stadium, Al-Arabi started the match on the attack and took the lead through player Zaid Qanbar, who scored after a solo effort, dribbling past the Fehail defense, and slotting the ball into the net in the 29th minute.

In the second half, Al-Jahra overturned their deficit to secure the victory, scoring two goals: the first in the 66th minute via a header by Cameroonian player Chris Eflana, and the second added by his teammate Abdullah Al-Dahhas in the fifth minute of stoppage time, sealing the three points.

With this result, Al-Arabi stumbled for the second time, following their draw with Kuwait in the opening round. Meanwhile, Al-Jahra secured the win after stumbling in their previous match with a loss to Al-Shabab.

The second-round fixtures will resume tomorrow, Monday, with two matches: Al-Salmiya versus Al-Shabab at Abdullah Al-Khalifa Al-Sabah Stadium, and Qadsia versus Kuwait at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium. (End) M.Y.M / A.A.H
