Cairo, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Dr. Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan to discuss the latest developments in regional affairs and efforts to contain the current escalation. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Saturday that the two ministers emphasized the importance of intensifying efforts to achieve de-escalation and reduce tensions, and to work toward restoring the diplomatic and negotiating track between the United States and Iran. The two ministers also reaffirmed, according to the statement, their commitment to the Islamabad Memorandum, which paves the way for reaching comprehensive and sustainable understandings that contribute to consolidating regional security and stability.
