Secretary General of the OIC Expresses Sorrow Over Forest Fire Victims in Algeria
Jeddah, August 29 (KUNA) -- The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, expressed deep sorrow and grief today, Saturday, over news of forest fires affecting several eastern states in Algeria, which have resulted in casualties, injuries, and material losses. In a statement, the Secretary-General conveyed his sincere condolences and sympathies to Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to Algeria’s leadership, government, and people, and to the families of the victims. He prayed to Almighty Allah to have mercy on the deceased, grant them a place in Paradise, and grant the injured a swift recovery. He reaffirmed the OIC’s full solidarity with Algeria and its steadfast support during this tragic time, expressing full confidence in the ability of the Algerian people and its national institutions to overcome this crisis and mitigate its repercussions.
