Kuwait City, Aug 29 (KUNA) -- August 29 ----------------------- 1966 - First Lieutenant Hassan Al-Zubaidi was martyred in a crash of a Hunter military aircraft. This incident marked the first casualty in the history of the Kuwait Air Force, which was established in 1953. 1976 - Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Salim Al-Sabah issued an emiri decree to "suspend the implementation of paragraphs (3) of Article (56), and Articles (107), (174), and (181) of the Constitution promulgated on November 11, 1962, and to dissolve the National Assembly" for the first time in Kuwait. 2004 - The Cabinet decided to donate $60 million to the Iraqi government to contribute to the reconstruction of infrastructure, particularly schools, hospitals, and clinics across all governorates. 2010 - Kuwait provided $1.5 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). 2010 - A Kuwait Fire Brigade sports delegation won several medals in pole vault, snooker, karate, judo, sailing, table tennis, and swimming at the 11th World Firefighters Championships held in South Korea. 2012 - The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced that the Kuwait Oil Exploration Company (KOOPEC) had obtained the WA-481-P petroleum exploration concession in Australia. 2018 - Ali Al-Sabah Military College witnessed the death of student officer Hadi Al-Suwarij and student officer Fahad Al-Azmi within the college premises during a military course, and the Ministry of Defense formed an independent investigation committee. 2023 - Kuwait and the United Kingdom signed a declaration of intent to cooperate in the field of cybersecurity regarding the establishment of the Kuwait National Cybersecurity Center.
