US President Announces His Country Has Signed the Largest Oil Deal in History with Venezuela

Washington, Aug 28 (KUNA) – U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that his country has signed an oil agreement with Venezuela, describing it as the “largest” in history and stating that it would secure what he termed American “control” over Venezuela’s oil reserves. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the agreement would secure a majority U.S. stake in more than 65 billion barrels of Venezuela’s proven oil reserves, at no cost to American taxpayers. He clarified that the “historic” deal would more than double U.S. oil reserves and significantly boost American oil supplies. Trump added that the agreement would lead to a noticeable reduction in fuel prices for all Americans for a long time to come, in exchange for U.S. assistance in placing Venezuela on a path toward “tremendous success and great prosperity.” He affirmed that the agreement resulted from “close” work with Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, and through a partnership with the private sector, noting that it would strengthen the growing relationship between the two countries.
