Niger Prime Minister reaffirms his country's desire to strengthen cooperation with Algeria

Algiers, August 27 (KUNA) – Niger’s Prime Minister, Ali Lamine Zeine, reaffirmed on Thursday his country’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Algeria and implement joint projects, praising the deep ties between the two nations and the efforts underway to develop them. In a statement following talks with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Zeine said, “The meeting provided an opportunity to review the implementation of various joint projects, assess their progress, define their prospects, and set new objectives for the coming phase.” He added that he conveyed the deep feelings of friendship and fraternity from Niger’s President, General Abdourahamane Tchiani, to his brother and friend, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. He reiterated that the meeting was a highly significant milestone for his delegation and highlighted the readiness he observed during the expanded meeting between the Algerian and Niger delegations to enhance bilateral cooperation and capitalize on the abundant resources of both countries. It is worth noting that earlier in the day, during an expanded meeting involving both delegations, the two countries reaffirmed their determination to continue their efforts to realize continental integration projects, foremost among them the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, the Trans-Saharan Highway, and the Trans-Saharan Fiber Optic Backbone Link.
