Defense Minister Discusses Coordination and Development of Joint Cooperation Areas with Pakistani Army Chief

Kuwait City, August 27 (KUNA) -- Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Al-Salim Al-Sabah met today, Thursday, with the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir. The Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the meeting discussed existing coordination between the armed forces of the two countries, opportunities to develop areas of joint work, and exchanges of views on several topics related to bilateral relations, contributing to the strengthening and development of defense cooperation between the two friendly nations. The statement added that the meeting, held as part of the official visit to Pakistan, was attended by Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Khalid Al-Sharhan, and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Islamabad, Nasser Al-Mutairi. It clarified that the Defense Minister returned to the country on the evening of the same day, where he was welcomed by the Chairman of the General Civil Aviation Authority, Sheikh Engineer Hamoud Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and members of the Military Defense Council.
