The Yemeni government condemns the Israeli occupation authorities' raid on an UNRWA center in Jerusalem

Aden, August 27 (KUNA) – The Yemeni government strongly condemned on Thursday the incursion by Israeli occupation authorities into the Qalandia vocational training center, affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in occupied East Jerusalem, calling it a blatant violation of international law and the inviolability of United Nations facilities.

In a statement, the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community and the Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities to halt these violations and ensure the protection of UN facilities and their staff, thereby guaranteeing UNRWA’s continued ability to carry out its humanitarian mandate.

The statement reaffirmed the Republic of Yemen’s support for UNRWA and its steadfast commitment to the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among which is their right to establish their independent state on the June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with resolutions of international legitimacy.
