Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Participates in the 23rd Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation

Kuwait City, August 27 (KUNA) -- Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Hamad Al-Mushaan participated today, Thursday, in the proceedings of the 23rd Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, held at the OIC Secretariat General headquarters in Jeddah.

In a press statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs conveyed Ambassador Al-Mushaan’s reaffirmation, during Kuwait’s address at the session, of his country’s historic, principled, and steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, and its support for the rights of the brotherly Palestinian people to establish their independent state within the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Ambassador Al-Mushaan emphasized the importance of the full implementation of the comprehensive peace plan for the Gaza Strip, in accordance with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.

He renewed Kuwait’s condemnation of settlement activities and attacks by extremist settlers, and its rejection of all measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status quo in the city of Jerusalem, calling for the unification of Islamic efforts and positions in defense of the Palestinian cause and Al-Quds Al-Sharif (Jerusalem).
