Iraqi Prime Minister Discusses Issues of Common Interest with Head of Egyptian Intelligence

Baghdad, August 27 (KUNA) -- Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi and Egyptian General Intelligence Service Chief Hassan Mahmoud held talks today, Thursday, on a number of issues and files of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of coordinating positions and exchanging information and expertise to enhance the bilateral interests of their two countries.

The Iraqi Prime Minister’s Media Office stated in a press release that this came during a meeting between the two sides, during which Mahmoud delivered a written message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to Prime Minister al-Zaidi concerning the strengthening of bilateral relations.

The statement noted that the message included President al-Sisi’s praise for the relations between the two countries and an invitation to al-Zaidi to visit Egypt, “stemming from the shared commitment to advancing the path of cooperation between Iraq and Egypt, safeguarding the interests of both countries, and bolstering regional and international peace and stability.” (End) A.H.H./M.A.A.
