Kuwait and Indonesia Discuss Expanding Cooperation and Supporting Rural Development

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 27 (KUNA) – Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia, Khaled Al-Yassin, said on Thursday that he discussed with Indonesian Minister of Rural and Village Development Yandri Susanto ways to expand cooperation between the two countries and support development efforts in rural areas, alongside strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing areas of joint work in a manner that serves their mutual interests.

In a statement received by the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Ambassador Al-Yassin added that Minister Susanto emphasized during their meeting on Wednesday the depth of bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and the Republic of Indonesia.

Susanto praised Kuwaiti efforts in humanitarian and charitable work within Indonesia, noting that these efforts included the establishment of model villages, schools, health centers, and mosques, as well as drilling water wells and providing other vital services that contribute to the development of rural areas.

Minister Susanto presented a certificate of appreciation to the Kuwaiti Embassy, expressing the Indonesian government’s gratitude for the strenuous efforts and constructive contributions made by the State of Kuwait in the field of sustainable development and alleviating the hardships of the most vulnerable groups.

For his part, Ambassador Al-Yassin highlighted Kuwait’s global leadership in relief, humanitarian, and development work, stressing Kuwait’s commitment to developing its friendly relations with the Republic of Indonesia across various fields in a manner that achieves the common interests of both countries.
