Bahraini-Yemeni talks on regional issues of common interest

Manama, August 26 (KUNA) -- Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani held talks today, Wednesday, in Manama with Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Afrah Al-Zoba on regional issues of mutual interest.

The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Minister Al Zayani emphasized during his meeting with the Yemeni minister Bahrain’s support and backing for the Yemeni government in its efforts to achieve security and stability, and to meet the Yemeni people’s aspirations for development and prosperity.

For her part, Minister Al-Zoba, according to the statement, praised “the close historical fraternal ties that have linked the two countries and their peoples throughout history, and their ongoing development and growth across all levels.”

She expressed the Yemeni government’s appreciation for Bahrain’s supportive stance toward the Yemeni government in its efforts to reach a peaceful settlement to achieve peace, security, and stability in Yemen, as well as to safeguard freedom of maritime navigation in the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

The statement noted that the two sides discussed bilateral cooperation relations and ways to enhance them in various fields of mutual interest, including expanding the horizons of economic, commercial, and developmental cooperation to serve shared interests, alongside reviewing political and security developments on the Yemeni and regional scenes.
