Kuwait Premier League (Zain): Al-Nasr defeats Al-Salmiya 2-1 in the first round

Kuwait City, August 26 (KUNA) – Al-Nasr Club kicked off its campaign in the Zain Premier League football competition today with a 2-1 victory over Al-Salmiya in the opening round.

At Thamer Stadium, both sides started cautiously, closing down spaces, before Al-Salmiya took the initiative with a limited number of attacking attempts, which Al-Nasr countered with strong defensive organization.

In the second half, Al-Nasr opened the scoring through Ayman Lakkach in the 55th minute, and his teammate Nasser Khader doubled the lead in the 80th minute. Al-Salmiya then reduced the deficit, scoring in the 93rd minute from a penalty kick taken by Abdullah Yousef.

The opening round concludes tomorrow, Thursday, with two matches: Al-Sahel face Al-Salibikhaat at Abdullah Al-Khalifa Stadium, while Kazma play Al-Tadamun at the Friendship and Peace Stadium. (End) M.Y.M. / T.A.B.
