(Islamic Affairs) Showcases Kuwaiti Experiences and Initiatives at a Meeting with the Secretariat of the (Cooperation) Council in Riyadh

Riyadh, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Islamic Affairs showcased Kuwaiti experiences and initiatives at the 11th meeting of Assistant Ministers responsible for Islamic affairs and endowments in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held at the General Secretariat headquarters in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that Acting Deputy Minister Dr. Eng. Sulaiman Al-Suwailim attended the meeting, alongside the General Secretariat of Endowments. It added that the meeting discussed several agenda items, including the exchange of scientific research and experiences in the field of Islamic affairs, the GCC Endowment Week, and a number of initiatives and proposals aimed at developing Islamic and endowment work and enhancing cooperation among GCC member states. The ministry noted that the meeting reviewed proposals from the Kuwaiti General Secretariat of Endowments, which included introducing a national indicator for the societal impact of endowments, the "Mafaz" competition to raise awareness about endowments, charitable work, and volunteering, as well as discussing various proposals and experiences presented by member states. It further stated that Kuwait’s participation in the meeting aligns with its support for the trajectory of joint GCC efforts and the enhancement of knowledge and experience exchange among GCC countries, contributing to the development of Islamic and endowment affairs and the achievement of common goals.
