The Ministry of Education concludes educational cultural club programs in preparation for the new academic year
Kuwait, Aug 26 (KUNA) — The Ministry of Education concluded on Wednesday the educational cultural clubs programs implemented during the summer break, with the aim of supporting academic achievement, enhancing learners’ core skills and concepts, consolidating their educational gains, addressing areas of weakness, and preparing them for their upcoming grades with a higher level of readiness.
In a press statement, the Ministry said that 6,554 students benefited from the educational cultural clubs programs across 12 educational cultural centers distributed among the six educational regions, covering students from the first grade of primary school through the ninth grade. It added that 338 members of the teaching and administrative staff participated in implementing and organizing the programs, contributing to providing an organized and supportive educational environment for students during the summer break.
The centers offered free foundational programs in Arabic, English, and mathematics, based on educational plans prepared under the supervision of the Technical Guidance Departments. These programs focused on reviewing and reinforcing the core concepts and skills that students acquired in previous stages of their education, thereby consolidating their educational gains, addressing areas of weakness, and enhancing their readiness for the new academic year.
The Ministry clarified that the programs did not rely on traditional remedial teaching methods, but instead employed a range of interactive educational approaches that combined active learning and play-based learning. This approach boosted students’ motivation toward learning, made the review of core skills and concepts more interactive and engaging, and accommodated their diverse needs and abilities.
The Ministry emphasized that the conclusion of the initiative represents an important step toward leveraging its outcomes to evaluate and develop supportive educational programs in the future, enhancing the quality of educational services provided to students and multiplying learning and benefit opportunities during breaks, thereby supporting their transition to the new academic year with stronger skills and greater readiness.
