Bahraini Crown Prince reaffirms his country's continued support for the GCC's progress and the unity of the Gulf bloc

Manama, August 26 (KUNA) – Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa reaffirmed on Wednesday that the Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, continues its steadfast approach to supporting the blessed journey of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), driven by its conviction in the importance of Gulf unity and the strengthening of coordination and cooperation among member states.

This statement was made during a meeting between the Bahraini Crown Prince and GCC Secretary-General Dr. Jasem Al-Budaiwi at the Riffa Palace. During the meeting, Al-Budaiwi briefed Sheikh Salman bin Hamad on the progress made in implementing directives and decisions adopted by the GCC heads of state at the consultative GCC summit held last April.

The Bahraini Crown Prince emphasized the importance of building upon the solid fraternal bonds uniting GCC member states, while expanding the horizons of joint cooperation and creating further opportunities to advance the GCC’s trajectory toward greater integration and cohesion, in line with the visions and aspirations of the GCC heads of state.

He underscored the depth of fraternal relations and close ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the GCC member states, calling for efforts to realize the visions and aspirations of the GCC heads of state. This, he noted, would contribute to continuing joint Gulf work, supporting security, stability, and peace in the region, enhancing the GCC’s presence and active role at the regional and international levels, and advancing development and progress to meet the ambitions of the peoples of the GCC member states for a more prosperous and developed future.

He praised the unity and solidarity demonstrated by GCC member states in addressing various challenges, commending in this regard the blessed efforts undertaken by the GCC General Secretariat to continue developing and enhancing joint Gulf work, and steering it toward greater integration and cooperation.

Several topics of mutual interest related to the GCC’s journey were also discussed during the meeting.

For his part, Dr. Al-Budaiwi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Bahraini Crown Prince and Prime Minister for his keen interest and commitment to developing joint Gulf work, which contributes to achieving shared goals and aspirations.
