Malaysia condemns the incursion of Israeli occupation forces into an UNRWA facility in Jerusalem

Kuala Lumpur, Aug 26 (KUNA) -- Malaysia today condemned the Israeli forces’ forcible breach and seizure of the Qalandia training center, operated by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), in Kafr Aqab in occupied East Jerusalem, describing the move as depriving Palestinian youth of access to education and training and violating their human rights.

In a statement, the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Israeli occupation forces had forcibly entered and taken over the center, reiterating Malaysia’s strong condemnation of this action targeting a facility belonging to UNRWA.

The ministry affirmed that United Nations premises enjoy inviolability and that their privileges and immunities must be respected, stressing the need to protect UNRWA’s mandate to ensure the continued delivery of essential services to Palestine refugees.

Malaysia renewed its call on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take concrete measures to ensure respect for international law, the UN Charter, and the rulings of the International Court of Justice. (End)
