Kuwaiti Premier League (Zain): Al-Qadsia defeats Al-Fahaheel 2-1 in the opening round

Kuwait City, August 25 (KUNA) – Al-Qadsia Club kicked off its campaign in the Zain Premier League football competition with a 2-1 victory over host Al-Fahaheel in the opening round. At the Naif Al-Dabous Stadium, Brazilian player Vitor Vieira opened the scoring for Al-Fahaheel in the 22nd minute. Al-Qadsia’s Gabriel Arok then equalized in the 43rd minute, and his teammate Abdulrahman Al-Mashfari added the second goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time. After overturning their deficit to take the lead, Al-Qadsia entered the second half maintaining the score until the final whistle, securing all three points. Al-Qadsia will next face titleholders Al-Kuwait Club in the climax of the upcoming round. The opening round’s fixtures will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, with two matches: Al-Shabab versus Al-Jahra at Al-Shabab Stadium, and Al-Salmiya versus Al-Nasr at Thamer Stadium. (End) M.Y.M / M.A.A
