Yemeni Army: Death and injury of more than 44 Houthis during clashes in (Al-Hudaydah) and (Taiz)

Aden, August 25 (KUNA) -- Yemeni government forces confirmed on Tuesday the killing and wounding of more than 44 members of the Houthi militia, including field commanders, during airstrikes and clashes in the western provinces of Al-Hudaydah and Taiz.

The military media office of the National Resistance forces, affiliated with the Yemeni government forces, stated in a bulletin that artillery and drone strikes targeted several Houthi militia positions in the southern part of the coastal Al-Hudaydah province, including command and control centers and armed gatherings.

It noted that the strikes resulted in the death of more than 14 Houthi fighters and the wounding of over 19 others in an initial tally, including the brigade’s personnel affairs officer and cultural officer.

In a related development, a Yemeni military source confirmed that the armed forces neutralized 11 Houthi militia members during clashes east of Taiz city.

The source, in a statement reported by the state-run Yemen News Agency, said that clashes on the Al-Safa and Kalaba fronts resulted in the killing and wounding of approximately 11 Houthi fighters, while one government soldier was killed and six others were wounded.

He added that Houthi militias launched an attack using various types of weapons in an attempt to breach government forces’ positions, which repelled the assault and forced militia elements to retreat after suffering casualties and material losses. (End) S.N.S./H.M.F
