President of the Arab Union of Agricultural Engineers Emphasizes the Importance of Integrating Arab Efforts to Support Food Security

Cairo, August 25 (KUNA) -- Abbas Abdulridha, President of the Union of Arab Agricultural Engineers and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwaiti Association of Agricultural Engineers, stressed today the importance of enhancing Arab agricultural cooperation and integration, as well as exchanging expertise and competencies, to support the Arab food security system.
This came in a statement Abdulridha gave to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) following his meeting with Muhammad Al-Yamahy, President of the Arab Parliament, at the Parliament’s headquarters in Cairo.
Abdulridha added that the Union stands ready to place its resources, personnel, expertise, and members at the disposal of the Arab Parliament, in collaboration with it, to contribute to supporting Arab food security, which he described as a strategic issue no less important than Arab national security.
He clarified that the discussions during the meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the Arab Parliament and the Union of Arab Agricultural Engineers in the fields of agriculture, food security, and sustainable development.
In this context, he called for developing cooperation and coordination mechanisms among Arab institutions and entities concerned with the agricultural sector, and for leveraging specialized expertise, technology, and innovation to transform Arab competencies into practical initiatives and projects that support sustainable agricultural development.
Al-Yamahy was quoted as emphasizing that food security constitutes a fundamental pillar of Arab national security, stressing the importance of unifying Arab efforts, exchanging expertise, and utilizing technology and innovation to develop the agricultural sector and enhance investments and joint Arab agricultural projects.
