(Ministry of Interior): 201 violators and wanted persons apprehended in a security campaign in the Capital Governorate

Kuwait City, August 25 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday the apprehension of 201 individuals, including offenders and wanted persons, during a broad security campaign carried out by the Directorate of Security Affairs, represented by the Capital Governorate Security Directorate, across several areas within the governorate.

In a press statement, the Ministry said the operation was conducted in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, resulting in the arrest of 187 individuals involved in criminal cases, desertion, and violations of the Residency and Employment Law.

The statement added that the campaign also led to the apprehension of three street vendors, four individuals whose visas had expired, one person in an abnormal state, two individuals involved in begging cases, and four individuals lacking identification documents.

Furthermore, 445 traffic violations were recorded, and 23 wanted vehicles were seized for judicial impoundment, along with the confiscation of ten motorcycles from the traffic garage. Additionally, 19 abandoned vehicles were removed in cooperation with the Kuwait Municipality, and a restaurant was shut down in coordination with the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.

The Ministry emphasized that, according to the statement, standard legal and administrative measures have been taken against all violators, paving the way for their referral to the competent authorities. (End) A.M.H.
