Deputy Minister of Islamic Affairs: Committed to Supporting the Progress of Joint Gulf Cooperation

Kuwait City, August 25 (KUNA) – Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Sulaiman Al-Suwailim, stated that the ministry’s participation in the 11th meeting of Assistant Ministers responsible for Islamic and Waqf affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, held in Saudi Arabia, comes within the framework of supporting the trajectory of joint GCC efforts. Dr. Al-Suwailim told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Tuesday, prior to his departure for Saudi Arabia, that the ministry is keen on supporting joint GCC work in the fields of Islamic and Waqf affairs, and enhancing cooperation and coordination among the competent authorities in member states. He added that the meeting addresses a number of topics and axes of common interest, and examines ways to develop cooperation, and exchange expertise and experiences among GCC member states, paving the way for initiatives that serve the joint GCC effort in these fields.
