Minister of Social Affairs: Refers senior officials and employees of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities to the Public Prosecution

Kuwait City, Aug 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait’s Minister of Social Affairs, Labour, and Social Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, announced on Tuesday the referral of several senior officials and employees of the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures regarding findings and violations uncovered by investigative committees.

In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Minister Al-Huwail said the referrals stemmed from suspicions related to harm to public funds, as well as financial and administrative violations linked to contracts, projects, and services provided by the Authority, alongside other incidents concerning licensing procedures and fees for certain entities under the Authority’s supervision.

She emphasized that the Authority would not tolerate any transgressions affecting public funds or the rights of persons with disabilities, regardless of the position or rank of the responsible official, stressing the continuation of oversight, auditing, and accountability for anyone found responsible.

She clarified that any suspicions or violations warranting accountability would be referred to the competent authorities, noting that safeguarding public funds and entrenching the principles of integrity and transparency are responsibilities that brook no negligence.

Minister Al-Huwail further stressed that the Authority would continue to take all necessary legal measures to protect the rights of the state and the beneficiaries of its services. (End) A.Y.S./T.A.B.
