French President Discusses with Saudi Crown Prince in Paris Strengthening Strategic Partnership Between the Two Countries

Paris, August 24 (KUNA) -- French President Emmanuel Macron held talks today, Monday, with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, as part of the latter’s official visit to Paris, aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Elysee Palace said in a statement that the visit completes President Macron’s trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in December 2024 and reflects the vitality of dialogue between the two nations, while also contributing to enhancing the strategic partnership linking France and Saudi Arabia.

The statement added that President Macron and the Saudi Crown Prince held, for the first time, a meeting of the Saudi-French Strategic Partnership Council, which discussed a number of issues of mutual interest.

It pointed to the announcement of three future projects to build entertainment cities with investments totaling approximately 6 billion euros (around 7 billion dollars), which are expected to create about 22,000 jobs.

French President Macron and the Saudi Crown Prince also attended yesterday, Sunday, the closing ceremony of the Esports World Cup, which Paris hosted for the first time outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since its inception.

The statement clarified that the two sides also discussed key economic and strategic issues that form the pillars of the partnership between France and Saudi Arabia, alongside major regional developments, emphasizing the need for close coordination between France and its partners in the Gulf region to support stability and peace in the Middle East.
