US Secretary of State and German Foreign Minister stress the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz

Washington, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his German counterpart, Johann Wadefoll, affirmed today, Monday, the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement, U.S. State Department spokesperson Tommy Biggot said that the U.S. Secretary of State held telephone talks with his German counterpart today, covering major international issues and topics of shared interest. Biggot noted that Secretary Rubio emphasized the importance of reaching a permanent and sustainable peace between Russia and Ukraine, and both sides underscored their shared U.S.-German commitment to freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
