Volleyball Federation Honors Junior National Team for Winning Bronze at the Arab Championship

Kuwait City, August 24 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Volleyball Federation honored the Kuwaiti junior national team for securing third place and the bronze medal at the Arab Men’s Under-17 Championship.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the sidelines of the award ceremony held at the federation’s headquarters in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Hall, Federation President Dr. Jaber Al-Mari said the recognition was in appreciation of the players’ efforts and those of the technical and administrative staff, and to reaffirm the federation’s commitment to developing the sport and enhancing Kuwait’s standing in international sporting arenas.
He noted that the team underwent a one-month training camp in Cairo under the guidance of Tunisian coach Mohamed Al-Sheikh ahead of the tournament, which took place in Bahrain from August 7 to 17. Kuwait finished third after defeating the Algerian national team 3-0.
Al-Mari added that the junior squad delivered an outstanding performance in its first experience and participation outside Kuwait, achieving a high ranking in the championship despite challenges such as the suspension of local competitions and a period away from competitive matches, yet the players rose to the occasion.
He explained that the federation recruited the Tunisian coach, who has a distinguished track record with several national teams, and emphasized his focus on youth development, recognizing that young players are the foundation for the future and require dedicated attention for upcoming competitions.
