Gaza, August 24 (KUNA) -- The Israeli occupation army intensified its aerial strikes today, Monday, targeting residential homes and mosques in several areas of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the martyrdom of seven Palestinians and injuring others. Health authorities reported that the number of Palestinian martyrs since the beginning of the day rose to seven, as a result of the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip, while occupation aircraft continued to launch strikes on scattered areas of the Strip.

Witnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that occupation aircraft carried out a violent strike on a water desalination station in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood, north of Gaza City, destroying the station and causing widespread damage to nearby homes and facilities. Several Palestinians were injured as a result of the shelling.

The witnesses added that occupation aircraft subsequently launched another strike targeting the Asqalan Mosque in the northern Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City, causing damage and destruction to the mosque and surrounding structures amid a state of fear and panic among civilians and displaced persons in the area.

Occupation fighter jets also carried out strikes on the Al-Bureij refugee camp and the city of Deir al-Balah in the central governorate, causing widespread destruction and injuring several Palestinians, including children.

The strikes coincided with the Israeli occupation army issuing new evacuation orders for residential blocks, forcing large numbers of Palestinians and displaced families to leave their locations and relocate to other areas within the Strip, under extremely difficult humanitarian and security conditions.
