Arab Youth Council to Organize the Second Arab Young Leaders Forum in Cairo Next September
Cairo, August 24 (KUNA) – The Arab Council for Integrated Youth Development announced on Monday that it will organize the Second Arab Youth Leadership Forum in Egypt on September 29 and 30, with the participation of approximately 300 figures representing civil society and youth institutions in 22 Arab countries.
In a statement, the Council said the forum is held under the patronage of the Arab League and aims to enhance Arab partnership in supporting youth issues and developing the system of joint Arab action. It added that participants include youth leaders, civil society institutions, public figures, research and innovation centers, entrepreneurship associations, media and arts representatives, universities, and pioneers of joint Arab work.
Dr. Misha Abu Ghali, Chairwoman of the Council’s Board of Directors, stated that the forum is part of the ongoing cooperation between the Arab League and the Council since 2003. She noted that its convening comes amid accelerating challenges facing the Arab region and the need to strengthen the role of youth and civil society in supporting the security and stability of Arab states and consolidating Arab identity.
Abu Ghali emphasized that the forum aims to highlight Arab youth models and initiatives that have made tangible contributions to serving their communities and homelands, alongside showcasing the experiences of youth leaders and civil society institutions in youth, cultural, economic, innovation, and entrepreneurship fields. She further stressed that the forum seeks to propose new visions to enhance joint Arab action, expand cooperation areas, and exchange expertise among youth and Arab institutions, keeping pace with the transformations and challenges facing the region and enhancing the participation of younger generations in shaping the future of joint Arab work.
The forum’s program includes dialogue sessions discussing several issues related to joint Arab action, highlighting the Arab League’s efforts to implement recommendations and messages from Arab forums for civil society and youth, and supporting the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. It will also shed light on youth efforts to raise awareness, promote a culture of Arab cooperation, and safeguard Arab national security in its comprehensive concept.
According to the statement, the forum will conclude with a “document” affirming Arab youth’s commitment to strengthening joint Arab action, consolidating unity of ranks, continuing the path of Arab integration, and supporting efforts aimed at enhancing security, stability, and development.
The closing ceremony is expected to feature the distribution of awards for the 14th edition of the Arab Council for Integrated Youth Development Awards for Outstanding Arab Youth, organized by the Council under the patronage of the Arab League, in recognition of Arab youth models that have provided distinguished experiences in serving their communities and homelands.
