Egypt and France discuss enhancing military cooperation and supporting regional security and stability

Cairo, Aug 24 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Minister of Defense and Military Production, Field Marshal Ashraf Sayeh, held talks today with French Army Chief of Staff, General Fabien Mandon, on military cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries and ways to enhance it, in support of security and stability efforts in the region. The Egyptian Ministry of Defense said in a statement that the meeting addressed several issues of mutual interest and ways to strengthen cooperation in various military fields. The statement added that Egyptian Armed Forces Chief of Staff, Field Marshal Ahmed Khalifa, also met with the French Army Chief of Staff and the accompanying delegation, which is currently visiting Egypt. Field Marshal Khalifa emphasized during the meeting the depth of the partnership and bilateral cooperation between the Egyptian and French armed forces, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultation to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries. For his part, General Mandon expressed his appreciation for the deep historical ties and distinguished relations between the two countries, reaffirming his country’s commitment to enhancing military cooperation with Egypt in various fields.
