GCC Secretary-General Discusses Preparations for the Gulf-Indian Ministerial Meeting with the Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia

Riyadh, August 23 (KUNA) -- Jassim Al-Buaidi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), held talks today with Vibol, the Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to discuss preparations for the upcoming GCC-India Ministerial Meeting scheduled for September. The GCC Secretariat stated in a press release that the meeting, held at its headquarters in Riyadh, addressed relations between the GCC and India and ways to develop and strengthen them in the interest of mutual benefits, as well as the latest developments in the free trade agreement negotiations between the two sides, which are set to be signed in February 2026. The statement added that both sides exchanged views on the latest regional developments and international and regional events, emphasizing the importance of continuing coordination and consultation on issues of common interest to contribute to supporting security and stability in the region. During the meeting, Al-Buaidi expressed his congratulations to the Indian Ambassador on his appointment as his country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, wishing him success and effectiveness in carrying out his duties.
