The United States raises oil production to a record level and leads global energy producers
Washington, Aug 22 (KUNA) – U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced on Saturday that the country has raised its oil production to a “record high,” making it the world’s largest energy producer. Wright stated in a post on his X account that “the U.S. oil and gas sector has lifted production rates to unprecedented record levels, making the United States the largest producer of oil and natural gas in the world.” He added that “President (Donald Trump)’s agenda will build on this success to unleash American energy to boost the economy and lower costs.” These remarks come as the United States intensifies efforts to secure safe navigation corridors in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring the continued flow of energy supplies to global markets. Last Monday, the U.S. Energy Secretary announced he would hold talks with American refining companies on ways to increase fuel production, in an effort to bring down gasoline prices, which remain notably high following the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran.
