(Kuwait National Petroleum Company): Health, Safety, and Environment fields receive top priority as the regulatory framework for our operations
Kuwait City, August 22 (KUNA) -- The Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Wadha Al-Khateeb, affirmed that health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters receive top priority and utmost importance in the company’s management, serving as the regulatory framework for its operations and the fundamental basis ensuring adequate protection for these activities and the safety of all personnel, including company employees and workers from contracting firms.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, KPC noted that these remarks were made by Al-Khateeb during a ceremony held by the company to distribute the 17th edition of the “CEO Award for Health, Safety, and Environment.”
Al-Khateeb pointed out that recent regional developments have underscored the significance of this vital aspect, the impact and effectiveness of which have been evident to all within the state’s efforts to address the repercussions of the malicious hostile attacks suffered by the country.
She stated that the award has, over the years, solidified its importance and status as a reflection of the company’s strong commitment to the health and safety of its human resources, its dedication to protecting its critical facilities and infrastructure, and its genuine commitment to fulfilling its responsibilities toward the environment and preserving it.
She added that the projects and initiatives undertaken by the company are always based on HSE controls, requirements, and standards, including those falling under the umbrella of innovation, which the company encourages among its employees and consistently strives to establish as an institutional starting point for them on the path to success, progress, and excellence in their work performance.
In this regard, she stressed the importance of all employees adhering to these controls and standards, considering it a collective responsibility that requires continuous efforts to sustain it, develop its procedures and requirements, keep pace with its updates, and benefit from best global practices and experiences.
The statement noted that several success indicators achieved by the company in the fields of health, safety, and environment during the past fiscal year were presented at the ceremony. These included conducting more than 3,000 training sessions benefiting over 60,000 trainees.
It further added that the company also received eight international safety awards, 146 professional accreditations, and re-accreditation for three ISO quality standards for the next three years. Additionally, it achieved a 94 percent implementation rate in its campaign and event plan, and secured second place in blood donation campaigns nationwide in Kuwait. (End) K.M / N.S.A
