Palestinian martyred and others injured in Israeli raid on home in central Gaza Strip
Gaza, August 22 (KUNA) -- Health authorities in the Gaza Strip announced on Saturday the martyrdom of a Palestinian and the injury of several others with varying degrees of severity, following an airstrike by Israeli occupation aircraft that targeted the courtyard of a house in Deir al-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip.
In a press statement, health authorities said that medical rescue teams recovered the body of the martyr and several injured individuals following the strike on a house in Deir al-Balah in the central sector.
Eyewitnesses told the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that a powerful explosion shook the city of Deir al-Balah as a result of the strike, which targeted the house’s courtyard, causing panic and fear among Palestinian displaced persons.
They added that ambulance crews transported the martyr and the injured to Al-Shahida Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah for treatment, while the nature and number of injuries were not immediately known.
This airstrike comes amid a wave of massacres witnessed in the Gaza Strip over the past few days, as part of a series of Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement. (End) w.a.b / a.m.s
