(Ministry of Interior): Four suspects arrested in four cases of diesel theft and damage to telecommunications towers in the Jabal Al-Ahmad area

Kuwait City, August 21 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Friday the arrest of four Asian nationals caught in the act, following the resolution of four previously unsolved cases involving the theft of diesel fuel and the sabotage of telecommunications towers in the Jabir Al-Ahmad area.
In a statement, the Ministry said that the Criminal Security Sector, represented by the General Administration of Criminal Investigations, succeeded in apprehending the suspects after intensifying search and investigative efforts, utilizing modern technical means, and monitoring telecommunications towers.
It added that investigations revealed the suspects were employed by a contractor responsible for maintaining telecommunications towers. They exploited their work duties to withdraw double the required amounts of diesel, using part of it to compensate for shortages at other towers and appropriating the remainder for sale.
The suspects confessed to committing these offenses over a two-year period at various locations. Investigations further uncovered their involvement in similar incidents across different governorates of the country.
The Ministry noted that inventory and investigative work is still ongoing, paving the way for referring the suspects to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal measures against them. It reaffirmed its continued efforts to pursue perpetrators of theft, protect vital infrastructure and facilities, and deal firmly with anyone attempting to tamper with them or harm the country’s interests.
