Israeli occupation forces continue their attacks on several areas in southern Lebanon

Beirut, August 21 (KUNA) -- The Israeli occupation army continued its attacks on several areas in southern Lebanon on Friday through bombings, shelling, and air raids. The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the occupation army carried out a massive two-stage explosion in the area between the towns of Arnon and Kafr Tannit, causing a tremendous blast whose echoes reverberated across various southern towns. The agency noted that occupation forces also shelled the town of Mansouri with artillery and carried out an explosion in the town’s common lands, in addition to shelling the towns of Tair Harfa and Sha’ with artillery. The forces also set fire to several houses in the town of Bayt Yahoun and carried out an explosion in the town of Haddatha, while Israeli military aircraft launched an airstrike on the outskirts of the town of Braichit. These violations and on-the-ground developments come despite the “Framework Agreement” reached under U.S. sponsorship to end military confrontations, which stipulates that the Special Military Coordination Group for Lebanon will assume direct coordination between the parties to ensure the gradual withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces and the extension of Lebanese state sovereignty through the deployment of the Lebanese army in the southern areas.
