(Ministry of Interior): Three suspects arrested with narcotics and proceeds from trafficking valued at 401,000 dinars

Kuwait City, Aug 21 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior announced on Friday the arrest of three suspects in possession of narcotics, psychoactive substances, and alcoholic beverages, with intent to traffic and consume, as well as cash and valuable items acquired from the proceeds of their illegal activities, totaling approximately 401,000 Kuwaiti dinars (about $1.3 million US).
In a statement, the Ministry said the seized items included quantities of Lariqa capsules and powder, psychoactive tablets, bottles of alcoholic beverages, and a sensitive scale.
It added that surveillance and investigations conducted by the General Directorate for Combating Narcotics revealed that the suspects had concealed and disguised the proceeds of their activities, converting part of the earnings into high-value assets, including luxury watches and gold, in addition to holding cash from sales proceeds.
The Ministry clarified that the seized assets included 40,000 dinars (about $130,000), four luxury watches valued at approximately 50,000 dinars (about $163,000), and seven kilograms of gold worth up to 311,000 dinars (about $1.013 million).
The Ministry noted that all suspects and seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions against them. (End) A.J.R. / T.A.B.
