Palestinian martyred inside his home by occupation forces' gunfire in (Jenin) in the West Bank
Ramallah, August 21 (KUNA) -- Palestinian local sources reported that a Palestinian was martyred early Friday morning after being shot by Israeli occupation forces inside his home in the city of Jenin in the West Bank. In press statements, the sources said that Israeli occupation forces fired at Fathi Khammash (58), a father of two martyrs, and prevented Palestinian ambulance crews from reaching him, detaining his body. For its part, Israeli occupation radio stated that Khammash, a former Palestinian security officer, was the target of an arrest operation carried out by occupation forces in the city, which ended with his martyrdom. His son Raed carried out an operation in 2022 that resulted in the deaths of three Israeli citizens, while his son Abdul Rahman was martyred months later in an armed clash with occupation forces. The occupation forces have relentlessly pursued Khammash since the martyrdom of his son Raed, who emerged from his home to declare his martyrdom in front of hundreds of Palestinians, an act the occupation then characterized as “incitement to carry out operations.” Khammash has since become a symbol of resistance.
