1990 - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak issues a call to the Iraqi regime leader, urging the withdrawal of Iraqi troops from Kuwait to restore the situation to its previous state.
1990 - Minister of Information Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah issues a decree establishing the Kuwaiti Media Center in Cairo, which played a prominent role in conveying the Kuwaiti cause to the world during the Iraqi regime's occupation.
1990 - The European Group decides to reject the Iraqi ultimatum to close foreign embassies in Kuwait and continues to open its 12 embassies.
