Al-Salibikhat and Al-Sahel qualify for the Zain Premier League for the 2026-2027 season

Kuwait City, August 20 (KUNA) — Al-Salmiya and Al-Sahel qualified today, Thursday, for the Kuwaiti Premier League (Zain League) for the 2026-2027 season, after Al-Salmiya won the First Division title and Al-Sahel finished as runners-up. Al-Salmiya secured the First Division title in the final round played today with a 1-0 victory over Al-Jazira, while Al-Sahel earned promotion despite a 3-2 defeat to Al-Yarmouk. Al-Salmiya finished with 44 points, level with Al-Sahel in second place, followed by Al-Yarmouk in third with 43 points, Al-Jazira fourth with 38 points, Qatari fifth with 24 points, Burqan sixth with 23 points, Al-Shamya seventh with 10 points, and finally Sportline with 6 points. Al-Salmiya and Al-Sahel will join the Premier League for the upcoming season without any team being relegated, with the top flight featuring 12 teams, while the First Division will include six teams.
