UNSMIL announces the signing of the draft final agreement to resolve the political crisis in Libya

Tunis, Aug 20 (KUNA) -- The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) announced on Thursday that Libyan parties initialled the draft final agreement aimed at resolving the political crisis and unifying the government and institutions capable of leading the country toward elections. In a statement, UNSMIL said this came at the conclusion of a mini-meeting it organized in the Tunisian capital, which included discussions on completing the first two steps of the roadmap proposed by the UN mission. It added that the meeting, organized by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Hanna Tetteh, reached an agreement to reconvene inside Libya before the end of August to make arrangements for its implementation and to officially announce it.
